|Scout of Death (Male)|
Some hunting parties choose to leave the settlement with a scout in tow. The gut-wrenching role of the scout is to watch and record what transpires, not to directly engage anything themselves. Their perspective can grant the settlement bonus insight and help further the settlement's development of monster fighting capabilities. This way all knowledge isn't lost when a hunting party is wiped out.

This model is accompanied by the Scout of Death special rules, added to the KD:M rulebook. The full details of these rules are not yet available, but the gist seems to be that hunting parties can choose to have a scout follow them out into the darkness. If the hunting party is to be killed, the scout is able to return to the settlement and provide insight into their demise, at least making their deaths worth something to the settlement.
Scouts can be upgraded to give them the ability to move ahead of the hunting party and reveal hunt events ahead of time. The hunting party may also gain the opportunity to adjust or add some terrain to the showdown board, representing the Scout's collected knowledge. This of course all comes with a risk of the Scout simply never returning.
While the method of upgrade is still in development, the pitch states that investing more endeavors or resources into your Scout's expedition will weight the dice accordingly.
