Campaign

The Kickstarter campaign launched on November 24, 2016. The campaign had a fundraising goal of $100,000. The campaign met its fundraising goal and surpassed the 1.0 Kickstarter ($2.05 million) 2 hours after launch. At 19 minutes into the campaign, it set a record for fastest project to reach $1mil raised (previously held by Pebble Time, at 49 minutes). The campaign ended on January 7, 2017, raising $12,393,139 with 19,264 backers. This made Kingdom Death: Monster 1.5 the 4th most funded project on Kickstarter, and the 1st most funded tabletop game product.

Gold Smoke Knight is being added as the major boss at Lantern Year 30. This also adds some major new game mechanics: gaining the Final Lantern, upgrading iron weapons, unlocking the Death Die (special d10 passed around the table, replacing the monster controller tile). Poots mentions that this has already gone into production so as to not affect the timeline of the 1.5 Core Game or update packs.
2	Nov 25, 2016		The campaign has reached $3.6mil raised in 12 hours. Poots posts a 1.5 update changelog, showing his original planned stretch goals (each update was meant to be revealed at different pledge levels). As original pledge estimates were blown out of the water, and all of the goals were achieved, most of the changes are still pending reveal. Reveals the new Synchronized Strike fighting art, Oxidized gear, and teases a new pinup to be unlocked at the $3.7mil stretch goal.
3	Nov 25, 2016	Pinup Twilight Knight (Male)	The campaign has reached $3.7mil raised. Poots wants to have a surprise revealed almost every day, but needs time to catch up to the early success. Explanation of the previously displayed change log as a list of items that have already been earned and have gone off to production. Reveals of change log items will occur throughout the campaign. Quick explanation of what pledge levels include the 1.5 Core Game box. The Male Pinup Twilight Knight is unlocked and added to the add on menu. Campaign's next stretch goal is teased, for the campaign's first female pinup model.
4	Nov 25, 2016	Hardcover Rule Book, Pinup Dung Beetle Dancer (Male)	The campaign has reached $4.3mil raised. Explanation of the Satan's Lantern pledge level. Crossover models can't be included in any pledge levels, as Kingdom Death doesn't own the IP for the characters used in Crossover models. 1.5 change log reveal of the new hardcover rulebook. The Male Pinup Dung Beetle Dancer is unlocked and added to the add on menu (psych-out from saying that this would be the first female pinup model of the campaign).
5	Nov 26, 2016	Nightmare Adam, Pinup Dung Beetle Dancer (Female), Dragon King	The campaign has reached $4.6mil raised. Poots reveals the first roll for the Gambler's Chest, adding Nightmare Adam to the Gambler's Chest. The Nightmare Adam model comes with a Nightmare Inspiration fighting art, and the Ambitionism philosophy. The Dragon King expansion reprint is confirmed and added to the add on menu. 6	Nov 28, 2016	White Fang - The Twilight Swordsman, Sci-Fi Aya the Survivor, Pinup Dung Ball	The campaign has reached $5mil raised. Second Gambler's Chest roll adds the White Fang - Twilight Swordsman narrative sculpture. For Cyber Monday, Poots adds the Sci-Fi Aya the Survivor mini to the Gambler's Chest, which includes 2 promo gear cards and an art card. 7	Nov 28, 2016	Last Axeman Standing, Nightmare Ram, Pinup Dung Beetle Knight, Dung Beetle Knight	The campaign has reached $5.2mil raised. Third Gambler's Chest roll adds the Last Axeman Standing narrative sculpture, including the Mighty Bone Axe rare gear card. The Nightmare Ram expansion is unlocked, detailed, and added to the add on menu. The Pinup Dung Beetle Knight is unlocked and added to the add on menu. 8	Nov 29, 2016	Scout of Death (Male), Upgraded Sturdy Storage Tray, Pinup Screaming God Armor	The campaign has reached $5.7mil raised. The Twitch Game Night crew is fighting the phoenix in Kingdom Death: Monster to add a Gambler's Chest roll to the next update. For this update, the Gambler's Chest roll adds the Scouts of Death mechanic to the game, also includes the Scout of Death miniature. For the 1.5 change log, an upgraded sturdy storage tray is revealed. The Pinup Screaming God Armor mini is unlocked and added to the add on menu.
9	Nov 30, 2016	Screaming God, Illuminated Lady, Lantern Parasite Queen	The campaign has reached $6mil raised. The Twitch Game Night crew lost against the Phoenix, and therefore no Gambler's Chest rolls or change log reveals will occur during this update. The Screaming God expansion is unlocked, detailed, and added to the add on menu.
10	Dec 1, 2016	Murderer, Young Survivor	The campaign has reached $6.25mil raised. The Gambler's Chest roll adds the Murderer narrative sculpture, including the new Homicidal philosophy, a settlement event card, a Secret Fighting Art, and 2 gear cards. The change log update reveals the overhauled hunt table and a new Young Survivor narrative sculpture.
11	Dec 2, 2016	Bow Master of Deadrock, Bloody Sword of Deadrock, Lion Knight, Role Survivors	The campaign has reached $6.5mil raised. Poots explains that they have decided to produce new armor kits separately from the expansions. The narrative sculptures allow him to focus on the storytelling aspects at the loss of customization. 13	Dec 5, 2016	Romantic Adventurer, Screaming Hoarder, Frogdog, Pinup Gold Smoke Knight Armor	The campaign has reached $6.8mil raised. Gambler's Chest rolls add the Romantic Adventurer and Screaming Hoarder narrative sculptures, including the Romanticism philosophy, and an advanced disorder. The new Frogdog expansion is unlocked, detailed, and added to the add on menu. The Pinup Gold Smoke Knight Armor is also unlocked and added to the add on menu.
14	Dec 6, 2016		For this update's Gambler's Chest roll, Poots rolled a 1, meaning that there will be no more updates or reveals until a custom Mario Maker level (Kingdom Death 1-1) has been completed. If it is beaten within 24 hours, an unplanned reward will be added to the Gambler's Chest on Christmas Day.

Poots gives a shoutout to Soda Pop miniatures currently running Kickstarter campaign (Way of the Fighter). The Gambler's Chest roll adds the Beast Hunter Armor narrative sculpture, the first hybrid armor set, combining armor from both Phoenix and Screaming Antelope armor sets. 22	Dec 13, 2016		Twitch Game Night is taking on the Man Hunter. If they win, Poots promises to create a Man Hunter pinup model. Additionally, if they win they can take a double or nothing bonus into their next fight against the Flower Knight, where if they win there Poots will create a Male Man Hunter Pinup. If they lose there is no Gambler Chest roll for the next update.
23	Dec 14, 2016	Pinup Manhunter (Male), Pinup Manhunter (Female), Flower Knight, Bright Knives, Pariah, Slenderman	The campaign has reached $7.7mil raised. Twitch Game Night succeeded against both the Man Hunter and the Flower Knight, unlocking the Male and Female Manhunter pinups, as well as 2 new AI cards for Flower Knight being added to the Gambler's Chest. 24	Dec 15, 2016	Pinup Disciple of the Witch	Another Twitch Game Night challenge, this time against a level 2 Gorm with some special rules. If TGN wins, they will vote for 3 different rewards to be added to the Gambler's Chest, one of which (selected by Poots) will actually be added. If TGN loses, the Christmas reward earned earlier in the month will be removed from the Chest. Pinup Disciple of the Witch unlocked and added to the add on menu.
25	Dec 15, 2016	Father & Son, Super Survivors	The campaign has reached $7.8mil raised. Twitch Game Night won their challenge against the Gorm, so a new reward will be going into the Gambler's Chest once it is decided upon. Gambler's Chest roll adds the Father & Son narrative sculpture, including a Fighting Art and Gear Card that are only usable by settlements which have taken the Protect the Young principle. New Super Survivors promotional content/miniatures added to the add on menu.

The Twitch Game Night reward from earlier in the month is revealed, adding Atnas the Child-Eater as a new nemesis to the Gambler's Chest.

Poots picks the Gambler's Chest roll for the update, adding the aptly named White Lion Guys narrative sculptures. The Silver City expansion is unlocked, detailed, and added to the add on menu. The Pinup Mountain Dungeon Armor is unlocked and added to the add on menu. The Lion God expansion is unlocked for reprint and added to the add on menu.
35	Jan 3, 2017	Fulfillment Delay, Gambler's Chest and Core Update add on prices increased, Imitation Butcher Armor, Improved Club Specialization, Goth Amy - The Unraveling, Pinup Death Armor	The price to add-on the Gambler's Chest to your pledge has increased from $100 to $150. If it is already included in your pledge, you have nothing to worry about. Backers who pledged for Black Friday Lantern or Black Friday Lantern Upgrade pledge levels may still add-on 1 Gambler's Chest for the original price of $100. Likewise, the add-on price of the 1.5 Core Game update has gone up to $300. Group Pledges, selling pledges, and combining pledges or accounts will not be supported. More details on the Pledge Manager and how it will work will be revealed when all of the details have been worked out internally. Based on current expectations, the KD team is estimating a 1-3 month delay on all fulfillment. The Gambler's Chest roll adds the Imitation Butcher Armor narrative sculpt, a hybrid of the Leather and Lantern armor sets. The sculpt includes a new Armor Set card, a new Gear Card, and a new Settlement Event. The Change Log update reveals Improved Club Specialization. Poots is asking folks to submit typos and errors in the Core game materials so that they can fix them up for the reprinted materials. Expansion rulebook typos will not be taken. The Gambler's Chest roll adds the Encounter System to the new KD:M rulebook, as well as adding 5 new Savage Bone Eater sculpts, including new Resource cards, a Settlement Event card, new Gear cards, and a new Armor Set card for a hybrid Leather + Lantern set. It is revealed that the Super Survivors promo will be getting rules on campaign integration, story events, and a new piece of gear (Lantern Power Scouter). The Gambler's Chest roll adds 5 new Innovations to the Food Innovation tree and the Herb Gatherer narrative sculpt, including a new Philosophy, new Fighting Arts cards, and new Gear cards. The final Gambler's Chest roll was supposedly double lanterns, but was made off camera, so Poots rerolled a 69 (which has already been rolled). As a penalty for the reroll, Poots adds 4 mystery Penalty Cheat Bonuses to the chest, to be revealed over the next few updates. The KD:M 1.5 Update Pack is unlocked as an add on for the add on menu.
44	Jan 7, 2017	Murder Victim	Filling in one of the last empty Gambler's Chest squares, Poots adds the Murder Victim narrative sculpture, including a Murder Witness disorder, and a new Terrain card. Finding this terrain card will supposedly give you a chance to remove the Murder settlement event card from your game.
45	Jan 7, 2017		The campaign has reached $11.5mil raised. Poots fills in another Gambler's Chest square, adding a new Encounter monster. The new encounter monster is heavily WIP, so there aren't a ton of solid details yet. The first Gambler's Chest Cheat Penalty box is filled with the Tough Guy narrative sculpture, including a new Fighting Art, and a new Philosophy.
46	Jan 7, 2017	Death Drifter, Magma Masochist, Shadowstalker	The campaign has reach $11.6mil raised. A new crossover with Hyper Light Drifter is announced, adding the Death Drifter to the add on menu. 52	Jan 31, 2017	Pinup Black Knight Armor, Pinup Honeycomb Weaver, Red Witches, Mad & Mighty Striker	First post-campaign update. Poots shows off a new crossover with the SMOG team on their current Kickstarter "The World of SMOG: Rise of Moloch". The crossover is a Steampunk Twilight Knight to be used in the SMOG teams game. The Pledge Manager is estimated to open up on Feb 14th. Poots posts up the gallery for the Kingdom Death Armor Kit painting contest and mentions that the entries will be judged soon. WIP images posted for the following models/products: Pinup Black Knight Armor, Pinup Honeycomb Weaver, Red Witch Nico, Mad & Mighty Striker. Poots ends the post by asking backers to not expect scheduled updates from him or the KD:M team. They want to make sure that they are excited about the updates that they are sharing, and that their focus remains on delivering on all of the promises made during the campaign. 3 month delay still likely in effect.
53	Feb 14, 2017	Pledge Manager opens up, Pinup Manhunter (Female), Pinups of Death 3, Pinups of Death 4, Pinups of Death 5, Oblivion Mosquito, Pinup Pond Scum Armor, Gold Smoke Knight	Valentine's Day update! The Pledge Manager has been opened up to 1k backers to start out with. More invites will go out over the next few days to make sure the system can handle the traffic. The team has started collecting emails for late backers, who will be invited into the Pledge Manager after all the initial backers are settled. Pledge Manager expected to stay open for about a month. Images revealed for the Pinup Manhunter, who has been added to the add on menu of the Pledge Manager. A male Pinup Manhunter is in the works by HamletMachine. Poots has decided to put all of the pinup models from this Kickstarter into their own Pinups of Death collections (3, 4, and 5). This will help save folks on shipping costs, as shipping charges per pick on top of shipping labels. Folks who are in a pledge level which receives all of this campaign's pinups are not able to opt out of receiving the Pinups of Death box sets. Lots of playtesting has been done with the 1.5 update changes, with Poots giving some details into those changes (Survival of the Fittest, Saviors, Shared Wisdom). WIP images for the following models/products: Oblivion Mosquito, Pinup Pond Scum Armor, artwork teasing a story event which can be triggered during your showdown with the Gold Smoke Knight. Armor Kit painting contest has a few outstanding corrections to be made, but hasn't been forgotten; things have simply been hectic with getting the 1.5 update changes to print. 54	Mar 14, 2017	Pledge Manager closing on Mar 23rd, Cockroach Queen	Pledge Manager will be closed down on March 23rd. Make sure that your pledge survey is finalized, or you run the risk of forfeiting your pledge. Late Backers who do not complete their survey will simply be removed from the system. The Pledge Manager will reopen before Wave 1 ships in order to collect shipping addresses and fees. The update is closed out with a picture of the Cockroach Queen sculpture at 1/8th scale.

Base Inserts have been requested to be added to Wave 1, and Poots is looking into accommodating that request. Plastic production underway for expansions (Wave 2), hope to fulfill by holidays of 2017. Kingdom Death will be attending GenCon as exhibitors. Philosophy system is coming along, with first prototype testable in June.
